Being a natural stone, made by Mother Nature, granite is available in a wide variety of beautiful colors. While granite may be more expensive that other materials, its longevity adds immeasurable value. Having a scratch resistant, durable surface allows hot items to be placed directly on it. Upkeep includes proper sealing to prevent staining.

 

Soapstone

Soasptone is quarried like granite and marble. Soapstone is chemically resistant to almost anything, making it ideal for bar tops or any surface where acids are present. It is thermally resistant; easily handling the temperatures you can create when in your home. It comes in a range of blue gray tones, which are the natural variation of one mineral. Soapstone requires simple care. One to two coats of mineral oil when first installed and reapplied yearly.
